24. HOW TO RESTART WINDOWS XP PC/LAPTOP

There are 3 ways to restart the PC

1st way

1. Click Start in the lower-left corner of the screen.

2. Click the Shut Down button.

3. Select Restart in the drop-down menu that appears.

4. Click OK.

2nd way

In Windows XP and earlier, Ctrl+Alt+Del brings up the Windows Security screen. To restart:

1. Click the Shut Down… button.
2. In the new window that appears, click the down arrow and select Restart from the drop-down menu.

3. Click OK.

3rd way

1. Press start button

2. Select run

3. type “runas /user:administrator cmd.exe”

4. Press enter

5. Type below command in cmd “shutdown -r -m \\MachineName -t -60″ or “shutdown -r -m \\IPAddress -t -60″

6. Press enter

PC will restart as per the command timing

shutdown -r -m \\MachineName -t -60 ———> after 1 minute

shutdown -r -m \\MachineName -t -300 ———> after 5 minutes
